The proceedings are based on the Archaeology of Barbarians 2015 conference with the main theme focusing on the Celts and Germanic tribes in the Middle Danube Region in archaeological records and numismatic sources (2nd century BC – 2nd century AD) although other protohistoric development phenomena are also included. Among the discussed topics are the absolute and relative chronology of the transitional horizons, the issues of monetisation and testimony of the numismatic sources, military, economic and diplomatic interactions along the north-south axis of the region, and several other sub-themes. The publication contains 18 articles from Czech, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian and German authors.
