The collective monograph devoted to the mission of Cyril and Methodius in Great Moravia takes into account its motives, course and consequences. In a broad international context, it summarises the results of the long-term research of various fields – archaeology, history, art history, Slavic studies, philology, and literary and religious studies. The publication is divided into three thematic parts – Assumptions, Brothers from Thessaloniki, and Memory, with a chronological scope from the 8th and 9th centuries until the 18th century. Therefore, it not only focuses on the mission of the Thessaloniki brothers but also traces their legacy and tradition in the later periods in the Czech lands and Europe.
