The collective monograph focuses on the narrative of Great Moravia and the beginnings of the Christianisation process. The book was published in connection with the exclusive touring exhibition Great Moravia and the Beginnings of Christianity, which was held in 2014 and 2015. The first part of the book contains contributions by Czech and foreign academics and is aimed at the Great Moravian issues and the key archaeological sites. The extensive catalogue included provides high-quality detailed photos and descriptions of the selected early medieval artefacts from the studied period. The sites and finds presented in this publication have a broad territorial, provenance and chronological scope. They record and document the pre-Great Moravian development, the emergence, expansion and demise of Great  Moravia, as well as the beginnings of the Czech lands’ state formation.
