The monograph provides a detailed evaluation of the results of the rescue archaeological excavations at 19 and 20 Horní Square in Přerov, which revealed the remains of wooden houses with rich material culture including pottery, metal, glass and other artefacts. It generally follows on from the previous 2017 publication entitled ‘Hrad Přerov v raném středověku (9.–11. století)’ by the collective of authors. The work significantly contributes to the knowledge of the Late Hillfort material culture in Moravia, as well as to the discussion of the population structure of the important Piast stronghold in Moravia and the subsequent castle of the Přemyslid period (10th/11th–12th centuries) within the Central European context.
